The grain is the paper! it's like "natural"? paper. it's brown and grainy like that. should be cheap to buy at any art store
I'll try to make a happy drawing of him.... oo.. actually.. I have one...
I like how the color of his body and wings is the same as the clouds floating in the sky.
The tones are very earthen and rustic. The spotty background almost looks lie it has been done on cardboard. It gives the piece a very traditional motif, or almost folklore. The braided cords inside the design of the moon lend themselves to that theme.
Like the melty-ness of his pants into the pool around him. Makes him seem like he is coming apart, which would explain his despondent expression. Well done
